This recycling program accepts used contact lenses and packaging. See more details below.
Please note, you do not need to clean the packaging before dropping it off, but you must remove as much of the remaining product as possible. The materials should be DRY, no wet items or bottles with liquid still in them.
Where are the contact recycling collection boxes?
The main contact lens recycling is at the “waste hub” across from the Center for Student Involvement desk on the second floor of Tyler Haynes Commons, along with plastic film, e-waste, and regular bins.
What can be recycled at the contact recycling bin?
- Used contact lenses
- Contact packaging (blister packs, cases, and top foils)
- Single-dose vials and their foil wrappings
- Full-size contact lens solution caps
- Small-size solution bottles and caps
- Bausch + Lomb branded eye drop bottles and caps
- Including Biotrue®, Blink®, and LUMIFY®
- LUMIFY® Preservative Free Redness Reliever plastic traps and paperboard sleeves
- Biotrue® Micellar Eyelid Cleansing Wipes and their foil wrapping
