E-Waste Collection

Every year, Rethink Waste hosts an electronics waste collection and recycling event. This event is for University faculty, staff, and students to dispose of personally owned electronic assets. Bring your old computers, printers, and accessories, phones, TVs, and other electronics ready for disposal.

Staff are available at the event to help unload vehicles.

All materials are responsibly recycled or disposed of, and all hard drives are overwritten or shredded to remove personal information.

During both the 2019 and 2018 events, we collected 7,000 pounds of electronics to be safely disposed of or recycled. Due to limitations surrounding the the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to host an e-waste event during 2020 and 2021. In 2022, we held modified e-waste event during the summer and collected about 5,500 pounds of electronics. Nearly 6,000 pounds was gathered during the 2023 collection event.
